Anne Reid, 86, Born In 1935 – Coronation Street
Anne Reid is renowned on British soaps for playing the Valerie Barlow in Coronations street for ten years from 1961 to 1971. She was also one of the main characters in the short-lived by wildly popular Sitcom dinnerladies. Her popular roles didn’t end there either.
She has been active as recently as 2020 with a role in the comedy-drama series Last Tango in Halifax and picked up a London Film Critics Circle Award for her role in the 2003 film The Mother. Even at 86 years old, she is still keeping busy and had a role in a 2021 film called SAS: Red Notice.
