Helen Shapiro, 74, Born In 1946 – Walkin’ Back to Happiness

Would you believe that Helen Shapiro was once bigger than The Beatles? That was the case in 1963 when the iconic band played as her supporting act in their first national tour of Britain. Her stardom came with the boom of her two hit songs titled You Don’t Know and Walkin’ Back to Happiness, recorded at only 14.

By the time she was 16, Shapiro was already officially voted as the U.K.’s Top Female Singer. But in 1987, she found Christ in her heart and briefly gave up the spotlight come 2002. With $73 million to her name, though, the now 74-year-old Shapiro can take all the break she wants.
