The door shut, its echo marking the end of Toby’s hopes of a simple rescue mission for his book. With the book in the hands of those two suited giants, it seemed pretty clear that nicely asking for it wasn’t gonna cut it. And taking them on? No way, not with their towering frames. The thought of it sent a shiver down his spine.
Toby watched from the sidelines as the duo said their goodbyes to Rick and strode out, the book tucked away from sight. Just like that, his book was gone. Toby was left with more questions than answers.
