Toby was left hanging, still gripping the doorknob when the door burst open, and the book-thieving expert stepped out. “Why are you still here? Didn’t I ask you to take a hike?” She gave him a passing glance.
She moved towards the new guys. “Took you long enough,” she muttered, handing over Toby’s book like it was some top-secret artifact. “Rick had it right. Get this thing to the lab for testing, pronto. And make sure Dr. Ellis rings me up the second he gets the results. No slip-ups!” And with a swift wave of her hand, she sent them on their way.
