Dolores Hart used to be an incredibly skilled and popular actress before she received God’s calling to serve as a nun. Stories like these are quite rare. Who’d leave a thriving Hollywood career to become a nun? Well, the Francis of Assissi star did.
Hart may not have played many roles during her active years between the late ’50s and early ’60s, but she quickly grew a fan base as she made her debut alongside music legend Elvis Presley in Loving You. Post-conversion, Hart has used her fame and experience to promote theatre in the abbey. Now 81, the last of her appearances was in Tab Hunter Confidential in 2015.
