Sidney Poitier, 93, Born In 1927 – The Last Brickmaker In America
The name Sidney Poitier will go down in history as the first black male actor to have won an Oscar. Life may not have been easy back then, especially being a person of color, but he sure did thrive as an actor. It has been nearly two decades since he took up any new acting roles, although he did come as himself on 20/20.
To make things more interesting, Poitier is scheduled to appear in a new documentary called Scales of Injustice at the age of 93. Considering his achievements, Poitier’s life deserves to be called one well-lived as he’s gotten to see not only his grandchildren but also great-grandchildren.
