George John Mitchell, 87, Born In 1933 – United States Senator From Maine
George John Mitchell got a Bachelor of Arts degree, served in the United States Army, and went to school once again at Georgetown University Law Center with the hope of becoming a lawyer. He did achieve his goal and became one!
However, Mitchell is widely recognized for his political career. It involved him serving as the United States Senator from Maine for 15 years and Senate Majority Leader, among others. His most recent (between 2009 and 2011) title was the United States Special Envoy for Middle East Peace. His health is his priority right now, considering he is 87 years old and was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020.
