The Vietnam War Like Never Before: Rare Photos and Facts Unveiled That They Don’t Want You To Know!

Mountain Allies

This photo features a group known as the Montagnard, meaning “people of the mountain” in French. Ethnically Vietnamese, these groups were minorities initially not involved in the war. The U.S. and South Vietnam sought to recruit them for their cause, training them in unconventional warfare methods through the American Special Forces.

These tactics greatly aided the U.S. Army in navigating and fighting across Vietnam’s challenging terrains. The Montagnard in this image hails from the Central Highlands, an area rich in Indigenous culture. Vietnam is home to 54 Indigenous minority groups, each with unique traditions and languages.
