Here we have a car tire with a rim painted like Patrick, the starfish from SpongeBob. Fans of the show would have easily spotted him with his bright pink hue and comical expression. Interestingly, car tires were originally white before the discovery that adding carbon black to the rubber made it stronger and more durable.
This led to the widespread use of black tires that we see today. The tire’s unique design featuring a popular cartoon character made it stand out on the road, and must have gotten smiles from passersby. With Patrick’s whimsical grin, the tire added a fun touch to an otherwise mundane object.
