’60s “Beach Party” Memories
This photograph was taken on the sets of the film “Beach Party,” released in 1963, and features the actors Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. While the two characters hit it off pretty well both on set and in the film, the world never discovered if the two actors actually dated each other.
This movie was received pretty well overall, and it ignited new freedom for American teenagers, who then started to go to the theaters on their own. Eight more movies followed this one, all of which were comedies revolving around teenagers stumbling upon a mystery and subsequently solving it.
