A Candid Marilyn Monroe in 1958
Here’s a photo of the legendary Marilyn Monroe pouring a drink. In her company are her husband Arthur Miller and their friend Kermit Bloomgarden. Monroe met her husband in 1951 on the sets of “As Young As You Feel.” She defined her first experience of meeting him as “running into a tree,” he was over six feet tall, after all.
And the perfect unlikely couple they were. Multiple magazines wrote all sorts of comments about their union. But the two of them were head over heels for each other. Miller once said he’d rather lose his life than Monroe’s companionship. Ironically, their marriage only lasted five years.
