The hockey ice has seen a lot, from fights with the hockey stick to broken glass in the stands. It would be an understatement to say that hockey is a contact sport; if anything, altercations and bodily collisions are expected, even encouraged. But it is rare to see whatever this is. Was this picture taken in the middle of a piggyback ride or was it just unfortunate timing?
It’s obvious to see that the two players in the picture are from opposite teams, so maybe this is an intimidation tactic that we have never seen or heard of before. The player in white might want to watch out, though—his rival’s hockey stick is much too close to his face!
