Most do not consider the dangers of refueling our vehicles at gas stations. Popular safety measures include restricting the use of combustibles like cigarettes and lighter fluid, as well as electronic devices like cell phones, within the service areas of filling stations.
The engine should be turned off before refueling, a safety measure that should go without saying but often is not. This is done so that fuel fumes don’t spontaneously catch fire.
