Sissy Spacek, 71, Born In 1949 – Coal Miner’s Daughter

Sissy Spacek gained international acclaim after she played Carrie White in the 1976 film adaptation of the Stephen King novel Carrie. For her role there, she earned an Oscar nomination. She eventually won the Best Actress Oscar for her part in Coal Miner’s Daughter.

Her interest didn’t stop at acting, and she also tried her hand at country music, gaining some success. Most of that came about thanks to her work on the soundtrack of Coal Miner’s Daughter, which earned her a Grammy nomination. She is set to do voiceover work in a documentary called Without Getting Killed or Caught.
